Overall a very good product. It worked for me.Overall a good product. It worked for me. Not perfect but very good. Rating is about 4.5 for me. I am a biracial African American woman in her early fifties. My hair is thick and grows quickly so during the COVID crisis I was desperate to find a hair coloring solution to color about 3 inches of my grey roots. My needs were: 1. Maintain healthy hair. 2. Find a quality custom color product that works to color thick ethnic hair but also protects the health of my hair. 3. A custom color to match my professional hair color and highlights. 4. Straight forward and easy process from creating a profile to ordering product. 5. A sample to conduct a strand test on my hair before buying 6. Good communication with customers 7. Areas that can be improved: 1. Allow for 2 pictures to be uploaded when completing profile with a maximum of 4 photos 2. A sample to conduct a strand test of custom color (nominal fee) on my hair before buying 3. Allow for more color for long and ethnic hair 4. To see how the custom color would look on you with a virtual mock-up with the custom color 5. General Hair care instructions after the initial color. (not just selling products) One that shows natural color and the second to shower current hair color Tips: 1. Follow the instructions closely. 2. Take the the time to comb through hair and section prior to beginning the coloring process 3. Have at least 3 hair clips readily available 4. Absolutely loved and it was my first time!Everything was as promised. For the first time to color my hair at home, I was thrilled how it turned out. I had watched lots of videos on how to foil my color in for lowlights and wow, they made it look easy! I struggled with the whole foil thing and just decided to brush it in and while my technique was lacking, it still turned out great! The shampoo and conditioner they sent was awesome so I came back to order some of that today! My hair looks and feels smooth and shiny and smelled great immediately! Never going back to a salon for a colour!I am so, so happy I tried eSalon. The website is easy to use and allows you to easily add pictures, view your colour and message your stylist - as well as change your shipping date if needed with ease! Onto the hair dye, the application is easy to use and unlike other dyes doesn't go hard and sticky when applying, this stays nice and smooth making application easy and less to no chance of missing a patch! The colour is exactly what I wanted a vibrant red - better than when I've had it done at the salon or by box dye. I cannot comment on the longevity of the dye as I dyed it yesterday but regardless I cannot rate it enough. Even if it fades, which red is prone too anyway, I have a lovely looking tint rinse to use until the next ends application! Normally, I'd get a box dye and put it all over my head every 4 weeks (if not going to a salon) my roots needed 15mins with this kit and my ends 10mins - I followed the instructions exactly feeling as though 10 mins isn't going to be enough (not used to a short amount of time)- but it's all that was needed! First time home colourFantastic colour, very unsure at first about home colouring. Instruction very easy to follow, more enjoyable experience than letting a hair dresser do it. No boring sitting around salons with-out-of date year old magazine. Now onto my second order and gone shade lighter. Hair colouring is not just for women.
