Though it was great at protecting colour this shampoo has been harsh on my hair. I wash and condition every day and my hair is dry and parched. I'm switching to a new shampoo and conditioner.

The first tiimes I used this shampoo, my hair was shiny and pretty afterwards. It does seem to protect color, but it leaves my hair dull, limp and not clean-feeling. I am not going to use it any longer.

It works great with the color, but takes 6-8 pumps to get anywhere near enough for my medium length hair. And even then i don't feel like there is enough lather to really get my hair clean.

I don't care for the Love Shampoo. It doesn't lather enough and you need to use a lot to fell like it is working at all. It is expensive for a small bottle.

When you're in a hurry, you don't need a poorly designed dispenser, it takes ages to get a good amount out. Nightmare in the shower trying to push down on the pump, I ended up unscrewing bottle and losing half the shampoo, really angry because the product isn't cheap!. Bottle looks great but sadly that's not enough, nor is the product so amazing you would tolerate the bottle for the contents

My hair seems to absorb the shampoo but it does not create much lather and it hard to rinse out. I do not like the way my hair feels afterwards unless I use the conditioner. May work better on other hair types.
I have thick hair and lots of it.

Sulfates, which cause many shampoos to lather, can strip hair of color and moisture. I have to use about 15 pumps just to get suds and to feel like I have enough to get all of my hair. It's not work the full price for me. Just doesn't work any better than the $3.00 shampoo I can buy in stores.

The foam in shampoos is often caused by sulfates which can strip color and moisture from your hair and is why we do not include them in our products. We suggest adding a handful of water to your hair after application of the shampoo if you need more of a lather to get your hair clean. We hope this information helps you in your hair care journey!

One of the chemical groups that causes lather in shampoos and other soaps is sulfates; however, they can also dry out your hair and strip hair color from your strands. Because of this, our shampoo is sulfate-free and does not have the same lather as some other brands. If you need a stronger lather with our shampoo, we suggest adding a small amount of water to the shampooed hair and massaging the scalp.

AK27 - Our Heart Lock-It Color Safe Shampoo is a sulfate-free, color safe shampoo. Sulfates are typically the ingredient in shampoo that cause it to foam - however it also dries out your hair and causes hair color to fade. Because our shampoo is sulfate-free, it does not foam like other shampoos and will keep your color intact.

This shampoo is terrible! Even when I tried to use it to wash out the hair color it wouldn't lather. After care was about the same results. I won't be purchasing this shampoo again.

The dispensing pump has a twist-locking mechanism to keep it locked until you open it, so to unlock the pump, simply turn the silver ring clockwise until it is secured tightly and twist the head of the pump counter-clockwise for a quarter turn. I do have fine hair, but quite a bit. I use this conditioner 1 or 2 times a week, but spaced out. If I use it twice in a row then my hair looks greasy and weighed down. And I only use conditioner on my ends. Not the roots. I do use the Leave-in Conditioner after every shower though.

This shampoo is very gentle, but even after two washes my hair doesn't feel clean. I have baby fine, fragile hair and try to only wash it every other day, but this product never makes my hair feel good - it feels weighed down.

So I use the packets with each dye kit that comes and love them, but for some reason the stuff in the bottle doesn't lather up well. It seems like I pump and pump and pump shampoo out and it just doesnt lather. I wash my hair twice trying to get a good lather. I do wash my hair every other day so I will try to see if every day works better, but I have never had this problem with ther shampoos. I do like the finished result I just would like to feel like I am lathering up the hair like it does with the packets.

This shampoo is difficult to use if you have long hair or your hair is at all thick. I regularly use 8 or 9 pumps to get enough to clean my hair, and the amount that comes out with each pump is what I'd use on a baby's head. I won't buy this again.

The only thing I wasn't aware of when I purchased it was that it didn't lather up well. I have had other sulfate free shampoos that are the same way so I get it but I like a lathering shampoo. I didn't really notice that it made a lot of difference with keeping the color any longer then other shampoos though.

I've never purchased their shampoo before so I thought I'd give it a try... Worst decision. I have to use 30 pumps of it just to get my whole head covered and lathered. Even after that it doesn't feel clean. I will never be ordering this product again. Very poor quality.

The pump will not open (had no trouble with the conditioner bottle!). I can not get this product to spread through my hair. I used to wash my hair every other day and now I have to go back to washing it everyday - one day I wash the top, the next I wash around my neck.

I've been using this in conjunction with the Lock It shampoo. Does not provide acceptable conditioning for color-treated hair at all. Leaves hair, dry, frizzy, and utterly lifeless. My hair has never looked worse.

I have shoulder length hair, and it takes about 15 pumps to get an adequate amount of shampoo. Maybe that was just THIS pump, but I don't want to try it again. It doesn't clean very well and seems to build up. My hair did not feel clean with this product. The conditioner is great, though.

I didn't really like the shampoo it made my hair feel extremely dry and dull. It did lather very well, but I probably would never use it again.

Takes too much product to get my thick hair clean. I'll have polished off the bottles in a week (too much $$).
Also could not get the pump to unlock on the shampoo. Now I'm just pouring it on my head. Wouldn't be surprised if the bottles are made in another country. The trick to a successful international supply chain is lots of oversight/quality control. I'm sure the weird arrows pointing at each other is an inside joke (twist cap in which direction to open?)
Anyways, there are other products I like. Bought a leave-in and heat styling spray.

I love the conditioner, but the pump is broken, it won't let me open it to use the pump. I have to unscrew the whole top to use.

Let me 1st day that I am a huge fan of this company, I've been coloring my hair w eSalon's custom mixture for a long time. I love the conditioner that comes w the coloring kit & was VERY excited to learn the I could buy a bottle of it. But this ain't it & I can't even detangle my hair in the shower with it. So... I'm bummed.

I've been using this shampoo however I noticed that I had to apply twice just to get it to lather up. This means I've had to use quite alot.
Whereas with other shampoos I'd only require a small amount and it would do the job. My hair is just shoulder length.

Unfortunately the pump on this did not work so I had to uncap the bottle and queeze out a quantity. Like the shampoo I had to use a generous amount. For the price I thought a small amount would go a long way. I would say it only lasts for about 6-7 washes.

Ok, not stellar, I still prefer my Purology to make it more silky smooth and less frizzy. As I age(40s) my hair is more frizzy and dry, many hair products are not cutting it- even brand name.
