The first time I received this, and used it, I lost a handful of product because of the top. I wrote in and suggested that they change this to a squeeze type tube, so as to not lose/waste the product. I was thanked, but nothing has changed...so I have since removedthis from my repeat order. If packaging is change, I may think about adding it back.

I haven’t found this product to give noticeable results, could be because my blonde highlights are not blonde they are auburn, I will try to leave both on longer and see if that helps.

The tint rinse made my mids and ends grayish purple( my hair has been lt blonde for 30years I wanted to go a little darker ( golden blonde). My roots ate golden with grey showing and ends grayish purple... they've had 3 tries to fix it. They didn't bother on this shipment, so I'm canceling my esalon autoship, very didpleased...

This works very well. My hair color looks great, less brassy. However, it’s too hard to use because it’s very thin and completely runny. It gets all over and makes a big mess. Otherwise it works.

First be careful it is very runny. Secondly I honestly didn’t see a change in the toning the brass in the hair color but it did make the ends blonder.

I was disappointed in the tint rinse as I love all other esalon products. The rinse is thinner than other anti-brass products I’ve tried. For me, that meant it was difficult to get it to adhere to my damp hair long enough to work well. I felt like 90% of it rinsed down the drain without having worked well and results weren’t noticeable. I’ve switched back to another brand but would welcome a future trial run of this if the texture is changed for better bonding while damp.

I’m confused about this product. I used this before and it was the HOLY GRAIL of all neutralizers for blondes. It saved my hair when I was faced with a coloring disaster. However this time it didn’t seem to do much of anything at all. :( Very little toning of warm colors/brassiness. Has the formula been changed recently?? :(

The Tint Rinse did not work well for me. It left my hair with many tangles after rinsing, even when I applied conditioner after using it. I found an over-the-counter product that works much better as far as toning and conditioning my hair.
I wish eSalon would sell the Toning Mask that comes with the color kit. The Toning Mask works so well, I would definitely add it to my order on a regular basis if given the option.

I chose this based on description and reviews. I have caramel brown color with lighter blonde highlights. I really wanted to use something to make my highlights pop. I tried it once, followed directions and nothing happened. Tried it for a second time, this time I used more and left it longer and I almost feel like it made left my base color with more reddish tones. I am not sure if I chose the right product for me or if it just didn't work for me. I would hate to order again, pay shipping and get it wrong. I was so hopeful after reading the reviews and couldn't wait to get it. Unfortunately I am a little disappointed.

My hair medium brown hair turned orange from the eSalon Light Set. Seriously, it turned NEON ORANGE. eSalon recommended I try Light Set again and pair it with the balancing Tint Rinse. I foolishly trusted the eSalon rep and tried it again.
Well, my hair turned orange again and the purple Tint Rinse did absolutely nothing for me. I used it several times, and all it did was foam up into a huge lather that seriously dried out my hair. My hair is a hideous bright orange and damaged and I'm so sad.
Here's the worst part!!
eSalon would not honor their 100% money back guarantee for me. Be careful with this company, they hide the fact that they only offer 1 refund per customer in the fine print. But that won't stop their representatives from encouraging you to buy MORE products to fix your hair, and then when that doesn't work, they will deny you a refund. Buyer beware!! I will never shop from eSalon again.
All I can do is hope someone who reads this will learn from my mistakes and save their hair from the damage and embarrassment I am going through by not purchasing the eSalon Light Set or Tint Rinse.

While it does make my hair feel silky, I don't see the effect of toning the brassiness out of my hair. Also, the next day my hair feels waxy. It only on the days after I use the tint rinse.

My roots turned light and red from your color and my ends dark so they sent me purple shampoo no one followed up and did not care the shampoo did not work , no one followed up to see if there dish soap I was told to use fix my hair I was not going to use dish soap

Great reviews for this product; but I've used it two shampoos in a row and am not seeing any change to the unwanted red tones in my hair. Also, I'm not sure what happens in the shower with this product; but after both uses, my hair is very tangled and hard to comb through. While I will probably keep the product and may continue to use it, I don't see me re-purchasing.

I’ve tried several purple toning shampoos and this doesn’t really tone like other brands. It definitely didn’t make my hair look like the picture. My hair is at a level 9/10 and after using the rinse, it looked the exact same sadly. It does however make my hair super coarse. I will not be purchasing this product again.

I have natural dark brown hair with a lot of red tones. I have dyed my hair dark blonde for a while and I noticed the tint does not help my hair. It may work on blonde or natural blonde hair but not on mine. It’s hard for my natural curly hair to catch the color correctly and moisturize. This tint makes my hair feel a little stiff after I use it.

My stylist suggested this to me as I was worried about brassy tones after my strand test, so I ordered it. As my blonde highlights are still growing out, I liked how it maintained their cool tone.
But my issue is that this was my first time doing a root touch up and this product hasn’t toned down my orange roots after two uses. Since you’re only supposed to use it two times a week, I’m not sure what to do now. I’m unhappy with the warmth of my roots but I don’t want to damage them by re-dying. I’m used to going to the salon and I simply don’t know what to do to fix things.

I have some gray hair and normally use the hair color pretty close to my natural. I always do it at the salon, and sometimes at home with the hair color recommended by my hair dresser. This time I took a leap of faith because I thought it might be a good idea to try a different hair color brand, still used the same color though.
The outcome was just horrific. I have never in my life had such a terrible hair color experience. I would understand how my hair turned completely green-orange if it was a different tone from my natural hair color. In this case it was very close, so I find it simply unacceptable. Never again.

I have highlights that have turned brassy. I was hoping this would tone them more ash but I honestly can’t see any different. I’ll try it again because I’ve got a whole tube. I left it on for three minutes too. The lather was nice.

I've been using the blonde neutralizer for a while and liked the results. However, over time my scalp started itching and the itching has increased to the point of being a constant issue. I've never had scalp issues before and don't see any flaking of any sort. I have stopped using Tint Rinse and the itching is subsiding. I suspect I developed a reaction to this product.

after this tint rinse dried, my hair got sweaty from being in the sun. My hair then had a tacky, sticky feeling to it, ok, if you don't get sweaty outside

I really wanted this to work but was pretty disappointed. It didn’t seem to remove or tone the brassy from my hair at all. I’m naturally a light ash blonde so I didn’t think it’d take much. It did however make my hair feel nice!

I appreciated eSalon's prompt effort to correct a bad color experience, and the tint rinse arrived 48 hours later, however it did not tone down the orange hair or correct the problem. I did have to go into a salon to have a color correction treatment done. I learned that color by mail order just is too risky for me despite the friendly and prompt service from Salon.

Feels very bad in hair. Doesnt smell to good eithier.Turned my hair orange. I was sent replacement bottle that turned my hair dark red. Very unhappy. I would so like to be refunded. I wish they had of told me from the beginning I couldnt go blonde from light brown with this product. I was told I need to go to professional salon. Thanks for telling me after I put this eye burning awful smelling product in my hair.

It may have toned my hair slightly, but really wasn't effective. It was sudsy, and kind of weird. I think it added to the drying effect the color had already had.

I would say the label on this item is inaccurate. I have had a neutralizer applied periodically over the years at the salon and this product does not do the job. It also dried out my hair quite a bit which was surprising. Love many of eSalon's products but you may want to go back to the drawing board with this one.

I made sure to notify eColor that my hair tends to turn RED and to please do not even place one drop of any form of red in the color. Well - they did and my hair was brassy! They sent color number 2 and lightened it - there is still brass. While the kits are nice and convenient - they can't get it right if your hair lends to a brass and you do not want brass/red.
Many of their photos feature red or brass tones - should have been a flag. The neutralizer does not eliminate brass - a misconception by many colorists.

This seems to cut out a bit of the yellow tones in my highlights but the product itself is really runny like water, makes it a bit trickier to pour out without getting too much out... Also in a plastic tube which I'm trying to steer away from.

I do not like anything this blue or purple in my hair! After rinsing my hair felt better but I think I glowed. I will not use this rinse. I also felt that it took some of the nice color I just put in, out as in made my hair seem much lighter in color, I do not want glowing hair. I want a nice soft color.
