Over time, this hair color has both bleached my hair & dried it out terribly. It feels like the diameter of the hair follicles are also wearing away... Need something less harsh & more color-depositing, not bleaching!

I wanted a color that was dark as my nature color is dark, but I was wanting to picking up the purple/ violet as I had lighten my hair so right now when I went back to my darker color would be the perfect time to do that. it did not do that it just went dark

Started to fade really quick and I only wash my hair once to twice a week with color treated shampoo and conditioner. I didn't think permanent would wash out like this did.

I applied this colour on my own but not being a hairdresser and having quite long hair I found it difficult to keep roots separate from lengths of hair. When I applied the second bottle I applied it all over the hair to ensure I had covered all the hair from roots to tips so that I didn't get a patchy result as I couldn't see very well the back of my head. It was a bit of a faff for me and I would prefer a one bottle application. The colour was lovely and the results were shiny and covered the little bit of grey that I have. A little on the dry side so a richer conditioner would be better for my hair. I do want to go gradually go a bit lighter for the summer so won't be getting this colour again.

When the colour went on, it looked black and I got scared but it turned out it was the exact dark brown I was wanting. Hopefully it lasts a little bit because I got the demi permanent but I think I've found my colour finally as the first few times it wasn't exactly right. I'm happy with the result, but there was no communication with a colour consultant like last time. I was expecting them to check-in and ask a few more questions about my desired result but it ended up working anyway so I'm happy with that.

I want to love this, it's adorable, easy, and beautifully packaged. I was a little disappointed by the amount of product, my hair is thick and about half way down my back so I could have used more. It did a decent job with my gray but there is still quite a few shiny ones left. I would still recommend, just hoping for some improvements from the company in the future.

Habe jetzt mein Set benutzen können. Musste noch 4 Wochen abwarten, da meine letzte Ansatzfärbung erst 4 Wochen alt war. War am Anfang etwas skeptisch, da mein Ansatz Lichtblond gefärbt wird und beim Friseur immer etwas lila wurde. Bei dieser Farbe kam kein lila. Hatte schon Bedenken, dass der Ansatz nicht blond wird und ich eventuell zu viel Farbe in mein restliches Haar bringe. Bei meiner Kurzfrisur ist das Teilen in 4 Partien gar nicht möglich. Es hat mit Unterstützung durch meinen Mann sehr gut geklappt. Er ist einwandfrei. Auch die beigelegten Produkte sind sehr gut.

The application stage was okay but I found the rinsing off process really challenging. The colour was very thick and gloopy and it got everywhere. The colour at my roots is perfect, but my lengths seemed to have grabbed the colour. They are a couple of shades darker. I followed the timings perfectly.

Le colorant est très bien, n’assèche pas le cuir chevelu et colore très bien. En ce qui me concerne, c’est une belle couleur mais j’aurai voulu qu’elle soit un peu plus clair.

I'm a natural redhead - well I used to be before the gray started. At any rate, it's not a typical red, but more of a copper/gold and it's been nearly impossible the last few years to find a stylist to get it right (my previous stylist retired). I tried an older formula (Wella) and it didn't color the gray well. I had tried eSalon once previously during Covid I think - decided to go back and see if they could fix this mess (another stylist left me with damage and hot roots). Mindy, my colorist, sent me my customized kit and NAILED IT! Absolutely PERFECT! Thank you so much! Highly recommend. UPDATED: Needed to change my color as it seemed my hair was grabbing color a little weird, so gave Mindy new photos. More strawberry blonde this time. NAILED IT AGAIN!

I colored at home during Covid and cringe at the pictures from that time. It wasn't good. So, of course, after Covid i went back to the salon. I loved the colorist and the result, alas, then she left the salon. I was assigned a new colorist who made my hair look like the old "frost and tip" color. It was ridiculous. I paid $250 before tip. I tried so many colorists and it was never to my liking. So I researched and researched and found that eSalon it absolutely at the forefront of home haircoloring. I figured I'd give it a go. Boy am I glad I did. I sent pictures and told them what I wanted the end result to be and my hair came out absolutely stunning. I am so pleased. I have not used the mask yet, but I will in about a week. I loved the packaging of the set, the easy directions and the lack of ammonia smell. It was easy to apply. I used the timer included and all of the gloves. Three sets of gloves are needed and they only give you two. Also, I didn't think about adding hot water to the left over dye to massage through your hair after the color is processed. It was quite a shock with the ice cold water over my head in the shower. Lesson learned. Also, be careful when rinsing in the shower because my tile floor became very slippery. Follow the directions, learn from my mistakes and enjoy finding that you don't need to spend $300 on color anymore!

The color was perfect, application wasn't complicated. I did have a bottle of color explode all over the room. I would have loved a heads up. DO NOT put the little cap back on the bottles between your test strand and full application. The chemicals cause the bottle to swell and if that cap is on, you will be scraping color off your ceiling with a spatula. Other than that, experience was great.

The kit and instructions where laid out well and very easy to follow, however the colour was darker than I thought and also a little flat, the toner and highlights would have benefited, also my ends have been breaking, I assume down to the ammonia

Die Mischung für die Haarfarbe war leicht zu mischen. Jedoch ist die Anleitung etwas dürftig. Es könnten mehr Fotoanleitungen sein.
Die Menge der Farbe war sehr viel.

I absolutely love my most recent colour. The colour mix I usually get is red copper, and my natural colour is a medium to dark brown hair. I had about two tweaks to the colour in the beginning of my colour journey with eSalon, but eventually found my colour and have continued to repurchase it because it's my signature colour now and I absolutely love it. 🥰

As a customer for over 10 years, it almost goes without saying that I love this product. The color itself is great and long-lasting. I get compliments all the time... mostly at my hair salon! The customizing of the color is a great process with outstanding results. Here's where stuff gets maddening. Several years back, someone (I assume a bald man) changed the packaging and I have been scratching my head ever since. Least offensive; though still bad; was the overall design (colors, graphics) going from punchy to pale, boring, unimpactful pink and purple. Yawn. The real problem is that the bottles and their caps/lips/openings are simply stupid. If one were instructed to pour the contents from bottle 1 into bottle 2, then one might assume that the opening on bottle 2 would be larger to accommodate that operation. Nope! You are pouring from a large opening into a smaller opening. The nozzle on the applicator bottle is also woefully small. Finally the shampoo and conditioner packets, if you can get them open at all, provide a hole the size of a pinhead through which to squeeze the product. As good as the products themselves are, it is clear that the people making packaging decisions have never used any of them. I would love to have a meeting with the team responsible for this because the bad choices are just silly and easily correctable.

I’ve been using eSalon for YEARS now, occasionally altering the color just a bit depending on the season! My only gripe is that as my hair has gotten longer, one kit is not quite enough for a root to end application. Can we get an extra large amount? That would be great! Thanks!

I followed the instructions to the letter ensuring that I used it as a root touch up rather than all over but it came out so dark. Also I asked for ash and it’s very red. Guess there’s no substitute for a stylist who can physically see your hair. Currently using specialist shampoo in an attempt to lighten it.

Always the same, do not ever use any other shampoo or conditioner. However the dispenser lid came broken, and I have lost about 1/2 bottle of shampoo. It runs out, and makes a mess on floor of shower and is slippery. I, instead use the classic shampoo single use that comes in the custom color set. if you could just replace the dispenser rocker top, it would sure be helpful. As with many others, after I dye my hair and shampoo it, it comes out shiney silky and golden. Do not want to pay so much for a broken shampoo dispenser lid.

I’d been showing silvery roots for a couple of years and finally sought help with E Salon who had been highly recommended. I wanted to get back to my dark brown original color, but was advised by ES counselor thru email to go in steps.. So, this third order has been the darkest and Bingo!,…, I was there! But…, I had just started using shampoo, conditioner & serum, from Life Vantage for fuller hair, 3 weeks prior. KTwo days after coloring my hair and being so excited for the dark brown, I washed my hair & conditioned, which washed 40% of the color out! That had not been the case after the last color treatment, using my previous shampoo and conditioner. Maybe I needed it to let color sit for more days or maybe it’s the ingredients in the Hair thickening shampoo & conditioner recipe. I like both products, but if it’s at the expense of taking my desired hair color out, I prefer to refrain from the thickening shampoo & conditioner! I appreciate the support & quality of E Salon color.

I was amazed with my very first application. My color was perfect, and it covered my gray completely.
My second application was not as good. All instructions were followed to a tee. I noticed that my gray was still showing, I must admit that I didn't color my hair right after receiving my new kit. I was away, and applied it 2 weeks after receiving it. I love the color, but the coverage just didn't cut it this time.

Contente de ma première couleur mais un peu trop foncée à mon goût. Pour la seconde j'ai fait un peu éclaircir la teinte. Après 1 mois j'ai obtenu avec la patine un joli blond vénitien qui était l'effet recherché. Les cheveux blancs reviennent vite sur les tempes mais sinon bonne couverture. J'ai apprécié le coffret et les conseils personnalisés, moins les délais de livraison (au moins 1 semaine depuis la Grande Bretagne).

Trying to cover varied gray/whites to favorite shade of childhood as my dad was a ruddy redhead and mom was brunette. As older child, I had light brown w. auburn highlights..... my brother got the red hair!

I love the color! It's perfect. However, there are still greys that didnt color completely. So im afraid ill have to go buy some dye and I wont be able to match this color, which I love, but Im thinking I may just have to re-dye it. I dont want to re-dye it i truly love this color!!

Amazing colour, easy to use. Great step by step guide. The only downside for me and I am being PICKY is the colours are just not quite bright enough for me but still love it!

La commande est arrivée très vite. Le mode d’emploi est très bien expliqué. La couleur correspond très bien ce que je voulais et elle couvre bien mes cheveux blancs.
Par contre l’odeur des produits est très très forte, je recommande de faire l’application dans une pièce bien aérée.

bonjour Jai bien reçue ma coloration mais ce n'est pas le blond que je désire
le produit est très bien dommage je désire un blond plus clair tirant sur le jaune clair si je peux vous envoyer une photo cela vous montrerais la couleur que je Desire merci cordialement

Die neue Farbmischung trifft fast 100% meine Vorstellung. Es ist nur sehr schade, dass ich die Hälfte davon wegwerfen muss, weil für meine sehr kurzen Haaren die Menge viel zu groß ist.

La couleur est vraiment très belle cette fois, je suis très satisfaite du rendu et surtout de la couverture des cheveux blancs qui est excellente. J'utilise ce produit depuis longtemps et je n’ai jamais eu de problème.
Mais cette fois, j’ai malheureusement eu une mauvaise surprise : après avoir suivi toutes les étapes comme indiqué sur la notice (temps de pause respecté, application correcte, rinçage, soin...), j’ai perdu une quantité importante de cheveux juste après la coloration. J’ai même pris une photo tellement j’étais choquée, c’est la première fois que ça m’arrive avec ce produit.
Je ne sais pas si la formule a changé ou si c’était un lot particulier, mais ça m’a inquiétée. J’espère que c’est un cas isolé, car jusqu’ici j’en étais très contente.
Je poste cet avis pour partager mon expérience et aussi dans l’espoir d’avoir un retour ou une explication de la part de la marque.

I have a confession to make. I thought I would try L’Oréal Paris Colorsonic and put my eSalon order on hold for a few months. Big Mistake! Colorsonic was messy and the two closest color choices were either too dark or too light. I’ve been a a member of eSalon since 2012. I missed the control and the color specially formulated for me. I’m a SUPER FAN and love getting back to “my” color!!!!!

i have been a client of esalon.com for many, many years and have gone through numerous changes...i like this product, i like the way my hair feels after coloring, i like the outcome...what i don't like is that there is no option to either "pause" orders (there used to be) or even cancel...as i am now older, i want my grey to come through, but apparently esalon now traps you into a lifelong commitment, perhaps even intending to send product after death...customers have a right to easily leave subscriptions...esalon does not seem to think so

Very nice to work with this company. My updated color was better. Still not sure if it may need another adjustment. The product has an odor which is not intense, but stronger than I would like. Gray coverage is not great.

Allerdings waren die Mengen für Ansätze und Längen viel zu viel. Habe schulterlange Haare und musste von beiden Flaschen die Hälfte wegschmeißen. Sehr schade und zudem noch teuer. Von der Farbe bin ich begeistert, nur die Ansatz Farbe hielt nicht sehr lange.
