Hate it!I have had my hair EVERY color under the sun - from the whitest white locks to the darkest of blue black tresses, so I am in NO WAY unimpressed with great color! This - was NOT great color.... It was way, way, WAAAYYY darker than I had anticipated, and I had noted when choosing the color that I wanted it lighter, warmer, with tones of red (I'm naturally a dark auburn... brown in regular lighting, but flaming red when the sun hits it just right)... What I got was a flat, drab, lifeless, dark espresso brown. Hate it. Don't want it. Not gonna use it ever again! If you don't want to invest in a professional doing your color for you, but you don't know which box to get at the Big-Box store nearest you? - I highly suggest a well-known brand like F&ri@ (I don't want to give out their names & thus advertise another product - but you SHOULD be able to figure it out, if not, you probably shouldn't use this brand anyway - you have to be able to read... haha). Can't decide if I picked my exact natural shade or if it didn't do anythingOn the positive side, my head isn't a funky color. I don't see a noticeable difference in my new color vs. what I started with, and it only did a so-so job on my grays. I have not only very thick individual hairs, I also have about 3X as much hair on my head as a normal person. Maybe I needed more product/more time to get better results. Great color but not enough coverageThis is my first time using esalon so I was nervous, especially with so many products in the box. But I read the instructions carefully and timed everything out exactly. I was exited to see the final product, which I was starting to love, except there was one huge problem, I had a bunch of random gray hairs still gray! I am in my mid 30s and was blessed with my first gray hair at 18 years old. So I dye my hair now to cover up the grays that appear in the front of my hair and part. I guess I was hoping for more gray coverage than what I received. I am super bummed. Great experience, faded quicklyI loved the packaging in the box, and it was easy for me to apply myself. I would have liked a bolder red, like a "little mermaid" red. It faded out quicker than the 8 weeks and is now a copper color. It doesn't look bad at all, but I'm still waiting on my hair color to be shipped. First time great-last time not so greatThe first time I used your product, my hair looked really good and healthy. Too many graysAfter surviving cancer, my hair changed to a bunch of gray. Not even your product will keep the grays at bay for an ample amount of time. I prefer not to put so many chemicals in or on my body now especially if the gray is going to come right back anyway. After 3 years, I give up on eSalon.I have tried for 3 years to get eSalon to tone down the hair color so that my hair doesn't look red when I dye it. My hair has never been red, or even slightly reddish. Every single order has been followed up with a note to them that the dye turns my hair red. I give up! I don't have this problem at all when I buy Medium Ash Blonde from the drug store. Not happyI was so excited when I signed up with esalon as I color my hair regularly. I ordered this over a month ago and just recently used it. The root color didn't match the end color making it very noticeable. Rinsing the color out took a lot of time. Product ok color NOTExperience was ok but shade was DARK not Medium as requested. Definitely needed the stain remover pad which didn't work well -rubbed hard didn't even remove all as color very dark. I've colored for over 40yrs & never had trouble with removing color before. made hair brittleFirst off I have always dyed very light blonde and actually went darker than usual when i started using esalon. It made my hair very brittle and very susceptible to heat. I have used a straightener in the pass with the protective heat spray as to not damage my hair. I asked for a plum and got even more redI asked for my hair color to be adjusted to a more purple/plum hue instead of a red/burgandy. My first hair color was perfect to my natural color. I couldn't have been happier, if that was what I was looking for! When I received my color the 2nd time and saw the changes from the original, there was more red (by the percentages) I even called esalon to inquire about what the color numbers meant and the percentages. I explained that I wanted a more purple tone than red. The person I spoke with reassured me that red and blue make purple and it would come out like a plum/eggplant color instead of red (altho the color diagram did not reflect that). BAD REACTIONOf course the pretty package comes, directions on top and I was eager to start. I NEVER had a reaction to the color at my high end salon before but as I put the first solution on my roots, my hair started to BURN like FIRE!! I didn't want to waste the $...but my scalp was burning red and after only 6 minutes a root application I had to rinse it out..... not only did the coloring product come out but so did A TON OF MY HAIR! My scalp was still burning 6 hours later lying in bed and today as it sits in a ponytail. MY SCALP STILL BURNS!!! Not the right colour and hasn't covered greyI asked for an ash light grey - what I get was quite a reddish-brown. I quite like the colour, but I wanted it as natural as possible- and my natural colour is not at all red. The grey hasn't taken the colour either - at all. Nice colour but applying two bottles was a faffI applied this colour on my own but not being a hairdresser and having quite long hair I found it difficult to keep roots separate from lengths of hair. When I applied the second bottle I applied it all over the hair to ensure I had covered all the hair from roots to tips so that I didn't get a patchy result as I couldn't see very well the back of my head. It was a bit of a faff for me and I would prefer a one bottle application. The colour was lovely and the results were shiny and covered the little bit of grey that I have. A little on the dry side so a richer conditioner would be better for my hair. Sehr gute FarbeHabe jetzt mein Set benutzen können. Musste noch 4 Wochen abwarten, da meine letzte Ansatzfärbung erst 4 Wochen alt war. War am Anfang etwas skeptisch, da mein Ansatz Lichtblond gefärbt wird und beim Friseur immer etwas lila wurde. Bei dieser Farbe kam kein lila. Hatte schon Bedenken, dass der Ansatz nicht blond wird und ich eventuell zu viel Farbe in mein restliches Haar bringe. Bei meiner Kurzfrisur ist das Teilen in 4 Partien gar nicht möglich. A bit challenging for a first timerThe application stage was okay but I found the rinsing off process really challenging. The colour was very thick and gloopy and it got everywhere. The colour at my roots is perfect, but my lengths seemed to have grabbed the colour. They are a couple of shades darker. NAILED IT!! TWICE!!I'm a natural redhead - well I used to be before the gray started. At any rate, it's not a typical red, but more of a copper/gold and it's been nearly impossible the last few years to find a stylist to get it right (my previous stylist retired). I tried an older formula (Wella) and it didn't color the gray well. I had tried eSalon once previously during Covid I think - decided to go back and see if they could fix this mess (another stylist left me with damage and hot roots). Mindy, my colorist, sent me my customized kit and NAILED IT! Absolutely PERFECT! Thank you so much! Highly recommend. UPDATED: Needed to change my color as it seemed my hair was grabbing color a little weird, so gave Mindy new photos. More strawberry blonde this time. Amazing! Better than the Salon!I colored at home during Covid and cringe at the pictures from that time. It wasn't good. So, of course, after Covid i went back to the salon. I loved the colorist and the result, alas, then she left the salon. I was assigned a new colorist who made my hair look like the old "frost and tip" color. It was ridiculous. I paid $250 before tip. I tried so many colorists and it was never to my liking. So I researched and researched and found that eSalon it absolutely at the forefront of home haircoloring. I figured I'd give it a go. Boy am I glad I did. I sent pictures and told them what I wanted the end result to be and my hair came out absolutely stunning. I am so pleased. I have not used the mask yet, but I will in about a week. I loved the packaging of the set, the easy directions and the lack of ammonia smell. It was easy to apply. I used the timer included and all of the gloves. Three sets of gloves are needed and they only give you two. Also, I didn't think about adding hot water to the left over dye to massage through your hair after the color is processed. It was quite a shock with the ice cold water over my head in the shower. Lesson learned. Also, be careful when rinsing in the shower because my tile floor became very slippery. LOVEThe color was perfect, application wasn't complicated. I did have a bottle of color explode all over the room. I would have loved a heads up. DO NOT put the little cap back on the bottles between your test strand and full application. The chemicals cause the bottle to swell and if that cap is on, you will be scraping color off your ceiling with a spatula. Love my personal red copper colour mix!!I absolutely love my most recent colour. The colour mix I usually get is red copper, and my natural colour is a medium to dark brown hair. The best! Been a fan since 2014, but here's what could be betterAs a customer for over 10 years, it almost goes without saying that I love this product. The color itself is great and long-lasting. I get compliments all the time... mostly at my hair salon! The customizing of the color is a great process with outstanding results. Here's where stuff gets maddening. Several years back, someone (I assume a bald man) changed the packaging and I have been scratching my head ever since. Least offensive; though still bad; was the overall design (colors, graphics) going from punchy to pale, boring, unimpactful pink and purple. Yawn. The real problem is that the bottles and their caps/lips/openings are simply stupid. If one were instructed to pour the contents from bottle 1 into bottle 2, then one might assume that the opening on bottle 2 would be larger to accommodate that operation. Nope! You are pouring from a large opening into a smaller opening. The nozzle on the applicator bottle is also woefully small. Finally the shampoo and conditioner packets, if you can get them open at all, provide a hole the size of a pinhead through which to squeeze the product. As good as the products themselves are, it is clear that the people making packaging decisions have never used any of them. Too darkI followed the instructions to the letter ensuring that I used it as a root touch up rather than all over but it came out so dark. Also I asked for ash and it’s very red. BNo Shampoo andConditioner, ClassicAlways the same, do not ever use any other shampoo or conditioner. However the dispenser lid came broken, and I have lost about 1/2 bottle of shampoo. It runs out, and makes a mess on floor of shower and is slippery. I, instead use the classic shampoo single use that comes in the custom color set. if you could just replace the dispenser rocker top, it would sure be helpful. As with many others, after I dye my hair and shampoo it, it comes out shiney silky and golden. 3rd adjustment is IT!I’d been showing silvery roots for a couple of years and finally sought help with E Salon who had been highly recommended. I wanted to get back to my dark brown original color, but was advised by ES counselor thru email to go in steps.. So, this third order has been the darkest and Bingo!,…, I was there! But…, I had just started using shampoo, conditioner & serum, from Life Vantage for fuller hair, 3 weeks prior. KTwo days after coloring my hair and being so excited for the dark brown, I washed my hair & conditioned, which washed 40% of the color out! That had not been the case after the last color treatment, using my previous shampoo and conditioner. Maybe I needed it to let color sit for more days or maybe it’s the ingredients in the Hair thickening shampoo & conditioner recipe. I like both products, but if it’s at the expense of taking my desired hair color out, I prefer to refrain from the thickening shampoo & conditioner! Coverage was differentI was amazed with my very first application. My color was perfect, and it covered my gray completely. My second application was not as good. All instructions were followed to a tee. I noticed that my gray was still showing, I must admit that I didn't color my hair right after receiving my new kit.
